Follow : Power Plant (Solar Power Plant)

What is the power plant ?

A power plant is and industrial location which is used for the generation and distribution  of electrical power .

Types of power station ?

The power plants have many types and it depending on fuel types ;

The 4th Method ; Solar  Electric Power Plant
There are more than enough solar radiation available the world to satisfy the demand for solar power systems .

What is the " Photovoltaic " Energy ?

" Photo " refers to light and " Voltaic " refers to electricity so photovoltaic term refer to describe what is the process that is used to convert solar energy into electricity .

The most basic material that is used as a semi conductor material to produce PV cell is Silicon as it has good specifications and mostly found in Sand .

The PV cells consist  of two semi-conductors layers ( one has positive charge and the other has negative charge ) . When the sun light fall on the semi conductor the electricity flow between the two layers

The module is a group of PV cells collected in one unit

Module type and cell efficiency

Inverters are used to convert DC current which is produced by the PV cells into AC current that suitable the loads .

Type of  PV System ;

1- Grid connected

These systems are the most popular type of solar PV systems which is used for home and business applications . The system is connected to the local electricity network allows any extra power produced to sell to utility .

2- Off- Grid connected

These systems are completely independent of the grid it connected to the battery via a charge controller to store generated electricity  . These systems are mostly used for industrial application such as Mobile station and rural electrification .

3- Hybrid connected

A solar system can be connected to combined with another source of power ( wind turbune or diesel generator ) to ensure a consistent supply of electricity .
